Lithium-ion battery charger fast charging principle

Generally speaking, fast charging uses DC charging, and the simplistic understanding of fast charging mode is to quickly charge the battery with a large current in less than 1 hour, and secondly, regarding the inside of the battery, the lithium ion should be accelerated to the negative electrode during fast charging. First of all, the charging is carried out with a wide charging pulse, the terminal voltage of the battery rises, when the time set by the charging time is reached, the charger pauses charging, and the charger continues to charge when the charging interval reaches another point.

 

The charger part and the power management part, the chip of the power management part is placed in the mobile intelligent terminal, and some are directly integrated in the mobile phone package, and the power management chip manages and monitors the entire charging process of the lithium-ion battery, including a complex processing algorithm.

 

In the pre-charging stage, constant current charging stage, constant voltage charging stage, and trickle charging stage, the charging management chip sends instructions to the charger according to the electrical characteristics of each stage of the lithium-ion battery charging process, notifying the charger to change the charging voltage and current, and the charger receives the demand from the charging management system, adjusts the output parameters of the charger in real time, and realizes fast charging with the charging management system.

 

Fast charging refers to the charging method with a charging current greater than 0.1C, which has little impact on the life and stability of a single lithium-ion battery, but in the case of battery packs, fast charging is an act of exchanging time for battery life.
