What does lithium-ion battery SOC mean?

The important task of BMS is to detect the working condition of the battery, estimate the SOC and health status of the battery, and complete the functions of thermal management, charge and discharge control, CAN communication, balance detection, fault diagnosis and liquid crystal display. SOC meanings are varied. At present, it is more unified in the world to give the meaning from the perspective of capacity, that is, the state of charge SOC represents the residual capacity of the lithium-ion iron phosphate battery, which is numerically equal to the ratio of the remaining capacity of the battery to the rated capacity.

 

The SOC (state of charge) of lithium-ion batteries is simply how much power is left in the battery; SOC is the most important parameter in a BMS, and because everything else is based on SOC, its accuracy and robustness are extremely important.
